Laser Tattoo Removal

Skin Solutions The Beauty Clinic specialise in laser tattoo removal in Studley and Warwickshire area and our staff are fully qualified, holding certificates in VCTC level 4 laser and Intense Pulsed Light, so you can be rest assured you are in safe hands. We use the Tattoo Terminator, and this is a revolutionary new tattoo removal machine which is twice as powerful as the older removal machines available. This means that tattoos can be removed in as little as 2 or 3 sessions!

The tattoo terminator is a double powered ND-YAG Q-SWITCH multi-wavelength laser and is able to effectively remove tattoos with no injury to normal tissue and remove pigmentation without side effects or scars. It can safely remove all kinds of semi permanent makeup/ permanent makeup such as lip liner and eyebrows. Q switch lasers are ideal tools for effectively removing complex and multi coloured tattoos.

How do we remove your tattoo?

We remove tattoos by using a laser that generates a high powered beam of light in a very short pulse. This very short pulse of light is then absorbed by your tattoo ink particle, causing them to break down into smaller pieces, this is called phagocytosis, which then allows your natural immune defencies to absorb and dispence of the ink through the lymphatic system. Over a course of treatments your tattoo will fade away, until eventually it is gone.

How does it feel to have the tattoo removed?

The sensation is similar to that of an elastic band flicking on your skin. If need be cooling devices can be used to reduce the discomfort.

How will my skin look after the tattoo removal treatment?

An instant whitening will be observed after each and every tratment but this fades quickly. The area will be tender for a few hours following treatment, and red and swolen for up to 48 hours after the treatment. Some tattos will form a scab which must be left to heal naturally. The tattoo will fade over the following 4 to 8 weeks as the body slowly disperses the ink.

Can i expect any side effects from my tattoo removal?

If scabs are not left to heal naturally, this could result in a change to the skin texture and scarring could be possible, although this is very uncommon. After care advice  is very important to adhere to.

How many tattoo treatments are needed?

How long it takes to remove your tattoo depends on many factors, these include the density, colour and age of your tattoo. Amateur tattoos can be easy to remove, taking 1 to 6 treatments. But professionaly done tattoos can take more treatments again depending on density, colour and age. A person who is healthy and hydrated, their tattoo will fade quicker than someone who is dehydrated and unhealthy.

How long does each tattoo treatment take?

Depending on the size and shape of the tattoo, treatment times vary from 10 -30 minutes.

How long will it take until the tattoo is completely removed?

After the initual consultation and patch test, treatment sessions take place every 4 to 6 weeks. For full removal this can be an average of 6-10 sessions- therefore 36 to 60 weeks is the average for full removal.

A fade down for cover up takes only 2-3 sessions.
